Theory — Phỏng vấn visa: 3 điều lãnh sự MUỐN NGHE
Phỏng vấn visa (F1 Mỹ, Tier 4 Anh, các consulate khác) rất khác phỏng vấn xin việc — chỉ 2–5 phút, câu hỏi cực trực tiếp. Officer chỉ cần verify 3 điều:
| Điều officer cần verify | Bạn phải chứng minh |
|---|---|
| 1. Genuine student / non-immigrant intent | Bạn đi học/du lịch/công tác thật, không lén ở lại |
| 2. Financial capability | Bạn (hoặc sponsor) có đủ tiền chi trả toàn bộ |
| 3. Strong ties to home country | Bạn có lý do quay về (gia đình, tài sản, việc làm) |

Câu 1 — "Why are you going to the US?":
I'm travelling to the United States to pursue a master's degree
in Data Science at Carnegie Mellon University. The programme
lasts two years, starting in August 2026. I chose CMU because
its curriculum in machine learning is among the best in the
world, and it will equip me with skills I'll bring back to
Vietnam's growing tech sector.Câu 2 — "Who is funding your studies?":
My parents are fully sponsoring my education. They own a
manufacturing business with an annual revenue of approximately
$500,000 and have a bank balance sufficient to cover both
tuition and living expenses for the entire programme. I've
submitted their financial statements, tax records, and business
registration as evidence.Câu 3 — "How do we know you'll return to Vietnam?":
I have very strong ties to Vietnam. My entire family lives here,
my parents own two properties, and I'm the only son responsible
for eventually taking over our family business. In addition, I
already have a written commitment from a Vietnamese tech firm
that they will offer me a senior data role upon graduation.
Returning is not just my intention — it's essential to my
family and career.Speaking — Đọc to 12 câu ngắn officer hay hỏi

Grammar — Chọn collocation ĐÚNG
1. “My parents have ______ to cover all my expenses.”
- A. much money
- B. sufficient funds
- C. enough money
- D. B is most formal
Đáp án
D. B is most formal — “sufficient funds” trang trọng nhất cho consular interview. "Enough money" tạm dùng nhưng ít formal. "Much money" grammar sai.
2. “I have ______ to my home country.”
- A. strong connections
- B. strong ties
- C. deep roots
- D. all of the above
Đáp án
D. All of the above — cả 3 đều đúng. “Strong ties” là collocation phổ biến nhất trong context visa. Nâng cao: “deep-rooted connections”.
3. “After graduation, I ______ to Vietnam to work in fintech.”
- A. plan to return
- B. am going back
- C. will come back
- D. A sounds most professional
Đáp án
D. A sounds most professional — “plan to return” formal + intentional. "Come back" / "go back" quá casual. Nâng cao: “intend to return”, “will return upon completion”.
4. “I've been ______ into three universities.”
- A. taken
- B. accepted
- C. admitted
- D. B and C
Đáp án
D. B and C — cả “accepted into” và “admitted to” đều đúng. Note: "admitted TO" (không phải "into"), "accepted INTO" (không phải "to").
5. “My father runs a family business that I will ______.”
- A. take
- B. inherit
- C. get
- D. own
Đáp án
B. inherit — “inherit a family business / property” là collocation legal/formal. "Take" và "get" quá informal cho visa interview.

- KHÔNG bao giờ nói "I might stay if..." — luôn khẳng định "I will return"
- "Strong ties to my home country" là collocation SỐNG CÒN
- "Sufficient funds" / "financial guarantor" thay "enough money"
- "Inherit a family business" = mạnh mẽ nhất khi chứng minh ties
- "Return upon completion" thay "come back after"
